Grease Trap GM series.

Reliable grease management for marine galleys

The Hamworthy Grease Management System is engineered to the highest standards for efficient separation of fats, oils and grease from marine galley wastewater.

Trusted by vessel operators worldwide for reliability, compliance and ease of maintenance, the GM Series is designed for the demanding marine environment.

The system delivers proven grease separation performance across a range of vessel types and flow rates. Three configuration options ensure the right solution for different operational requirements.

Why operators choose Hamworthy Grease Traps:

Designed for simple, reliable grease separation
Designed and sized in accordance with BS EN 1825, the international standard for grease separators.
Gravity-driven separation requires no energy input for the core separation process.
Passive baffle system allows dense solids to settle and grease to rise, while clean water exits the system.
Three variants are available to suit different operational requirements: Standard, Heater Only and Pump & Heater.
Four size options, from NS 0.5 to NS 4 nominal flow sizes, accommodate galleys ranging from small vessels to large commercial ships.

Three variants, one solution:

The Standard and Heater variants are available across all four sizes. The Heater & Pump variant is available for NS 2 and NS 4 sizes and is designed for larger galleys requiring automated grease discharge.
Standard Grease Trap
Contains two manual drain valves — one to remove grease from the Grease Collection Zone and one at the tank base to drain all tank contents.
Grease Trap with Heater
Features an integrated immersion heater with two manual drain valves. The heater allows for reliquification of grease contents for easier removal via the manual drain valve.
Grease Trap with Pump & Heater
Contains two manual drain valves — one to remove grease from the Grease Collection Zone and one at the tank base to drain all tank contents.

Simple installation & commissioning:

The GM Series is designed for straightforward installation.
Mount the unit level with fore-and-aft orientation, connect the gravity-fed wastewater inlet (minimum 2% gradient), ensure ventilation pipework is connected, fill the system with water and commission with a suitably qualified engineer.

How the Grease Trap works.

Galley grey water is gravity fed into the Grease Trap through the inlet pipework.

Inside the unit, a passive baffle system separates the wastewater into different stages. Dense solids settle, while fats, oils and grease rise into the Grease Collection Zone. The separated clean water then exits through the immersion pipe and outlet, while collected grease remains within the unit for periodic removal.

Designed in accordance with BS EN 1825.

The Hamworthy GM Series is fully designed and sized in accordance with BS EN 1825, the international standard for grease separators.
Combined with its gravity-driven separation process and range of configurations, the system provides a straightforward solution for managing fats, oils and grease from marine galley wastewater.
