CFD modelling
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a sophisticated modelling tool applied to simulate flows, such as oil, water and gas, inside a piece of equipment or system.
CFD is used extensively for different process equipment applications and we offer this as a service to the offshore market. Many of our products at Hamworthy Technology & Products have been developed using CFD in combination with laboratory and full scale testing.
We can offer our customers sophisticated but comprehendable models of their equipment and systems to be built up and analyzed quickly. Hamworthy has a team of computational fluid dynamics specialists with a wide range of backgrounds ranging from process technology to coastal engineering.
See on this video how the simulation showed that this FPSO will have oil in the gas outlet and water going over the weir during heavy wave conditions.
