The onshore tank farm in Mexico where Hamworthy's pumps are installed

Hamworthy Svanehøj has secured a contract to supply 4 x 2-stage booster pumps, type NH 200/250-2, to the gas company “Grupo Zeta” for its new tank farm on the Pacific coast of Mexico, near Ensenada.

Each pump has a capacity of 600 m3/h at 170 mlc. They are being installed in 2 groups (which groupwise can operate either in series or in parallel) inside the booster station. The new tank farm will be placed 225m above sea level and approx 2 kilometres inland, it will serve trucks moving the LPG around to consumers in the area.

"There was a need from Grupo to boost the pressure in order to get the cargo from the LPG tanker into the tanks on top of the hill, hence the purchase of these pumps" said Erik Buus, Sales Manager, Hamworthy Svanehøj. "The pumps will boost the propane, which a LPG tanker moored offshore will discharge into a pipe on the seabed."
